Annual Archive v1.5.1 & Archive-Pro-Matic v1.1.1
Aside
The latest versions of Annual Archive and Archive-Pro-Matic have just been released and both include the following features:
Archive Type: Decade
A new decade archive type has been introduced that is useful when the archive covers a large number of years. Posts are grouped into decades, or a time span of 10 years: 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s and so on.
Alpha Type Sorting
According to the WordPress codex for the wp_get_archives function the type attribute will override the order attribute for alpha and postbypost archive types:
Type of archive to retrieve. Accepts ‘daily’, ‘weekly’, ‘monthly’, ‘yearly’, ‘postbypost’, or ‘alpha’. Both ‘postbypost’ and ‘alpha’ display the same archive link list as well as post titles instead of displaying dates. The difference between the two is that ‘alpha’ will order by post title and ‘postbypost’ will order by post date. Default ‘monthly’.
The latest versions of both Annual Archive and Archive-Pro-Matic include a new alpha_sort feature that allows alpha archive types to be sorted either ASCending or DESCending. The shortcode attribute to control alpha type sorting is alpha_sort
.
Post-By-Post Type Sorting
The latest versions of both archive plugins include a new alpha_sort feature that allows post-by-post archive types to be sorted either ASCending or DESCending. The shortcode attribute to control post-by-post type sorting is post_sort
.

New Plugin: T(-) Countdown Events
The Plugin Oven is happy to announce the release of T(-) Countdown Events our first add-on plugin for both T(-) Countdown and T(-) Countdown Control. This add-on allows a list of timed events to be triggered at specific times before the countdown reaches zero.
Multiple events can be created and then associated to one or more countdowns. Each event is assigned a specific amount of time (days, hours, minutes and seconds) before the countdown launches where it can:
- Insert HTML above or below the countdown
- Insert HTML in a specific element based on element type, element ID or element class
- trigger an external callback function
This add-on plugin is quite powerful in it’s current state, and more features will be added over the next months. While we continute to develope T(-) Countdown Events, we are making it available to early-adopters at a discounted rate.
Preflight Check: T(-) Countdown Control v1.6.0
The upcoming release of T(-) Countdown Control will include a number of changes that warrant a quick ‘pre-flight’ check before the plugin is updated. Before updating to version 1.6.0 or newer, please take a moment and check the following items to ensure the update will not cause a conflict with outdated themes or plugins on your site.
Meta-Box
The first major difference that version 1.6.0 brings with it revolves around Meta Box by Tran Ngoc Tuan Anh. Meta Box is a very powerful plugin that many themes and plugins use to manage meta box and custom fields in WordPress. The recommended method of including the Meta Box plugin in themes/plugins has changed, and T(-) Countdown Control v1.6.0 uses this new recommended method.
However, this new method of loading the standard Meta-Box plugin might have conflicts with older themes and plugins that force-include their own ‘flavor’ of Meta-Box. Therefore we highly recommend that you check that your WordPress setup is able to install and activate the Meta-Box plugin before upgrading to version 1.6.0 or newer. Meta-Box is available directly from the WordPress Plugin Repository at: https://wordpress.org/plugins/meta-box/
Licence Key
As of version 1.6.0, the plugin registration and update functions have been replaced with our new licensing system. The plugin must now be registered using a valid licence key to continue to receive plugin updates and support. Licence keys may be viewed and managed at the Plugin Oven by logging into your account. Be sure you have secured your licence key before updating to version 1.6.0 or newer.
Collapse-Pro-Matic v1.2.1
Aside
Collapse-Pro-Matic version 1.2.1 is now available for purchase and upgrade. This update includes a new plugin registration and update method that is fully integrated with the new plugin licensing system. Collapse-Pro-Matic must now be registered using a licence key to continue to receive plugin updates. Licence keys may be viewed and completely managed from your account. A brief overview the of changes to the registration system are presented in the following video:
