Over the years the WordPress.org homepage has received a new look every year or so. Over the last 10 years WordPress has grown from a simple, easy to use blogging platform to a full-featured (but still easy to use) Content Management System. In 2012 it is estimated that WordPress currently runs one out of every six pages on the Internet. WordPress.org makes it’s appearance online for the first time. -
2004 saw the introduction of a spiffy sidebar to the wp.org homepage -
Two years later, in 2006 the sidebar was moved to the left. The WP logo also makes it’s debut. -
The new layout of 2008 ushers in the basic structure that we still see in 2013 -
Blue with a dark grey header. Alternative admin css…. huzzah. -
So long baby blue! The original 2008 look gets at 2010 update. -
The Home tab is removed and subtle refinements to css are added. -
Current Version: BAM!, the header goes dark. -
2020, oh who cares, we are all going to die!
